Breaking The Stigma Of Counseling
I was born and raised outside of Washington D.C. in Northern Virginia. I spent a majority of my childhood playing basketball where my weekdays were spent practicing and playing in tournaments. I still enjoy playing basketball where I am a pass first point guard who models his game after Chris Paul. You can see my past basketball therapy group I had at L&B Counseling. I’m a diehard Washington Wizards fan and my favorite player is John Wall. However, I do root for the Charlotte Hornets unless they are playing my Wizards.
My father has worked for United Airlines for over 40 years and which gave me the opportunity to visit some amazing places and experience cultures from all over the world. New Zealand, Italy, Hawaii, Spain, and Alaska are some of the places I have been fortunate enough to visit. My bucket list includes hiking with my dad on the Inca Trail, scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and swimming off the coast of Antarctica.
In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, disc golf, reading, yoga, water parks, and playing basketball. My favorite TV shows are Game of Thrones, That 70’s Show, and Parks & Recreation. My favorite musical artists are Kid Cudi, Jack Johnson, and Led Zeppelin. On the weekends, you will find me somewhere that has live music, good fried pickles, and a place for my dog to run around. I feel so blessed to be able to wake up every day and do what I love to do!
My counseling experience and practice ranges from adolescent to adult. The types of counseling include: individual, group, career, crisis intervention, and consultation. I have a special interest in depression, anxiety, academic and personal adjustment, attention deficit, and family relationships. I take an inviting, reflective approach to people’s problems and encourage you to learn more about this kind of therapy I practice. My approach is derived from Adlerian and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy.
My ideal aged client is 13 and up.
