Meet Lauren Smith, Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
Suite 305
Hello! My name is Lauren Smith, and I am a nationally certified physician assistant. I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and then attended Old Dominion University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a pre-medical concentration. I then earned my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University. I have experience in psychiatry, women’s health, and family medicine. I currently hold a license with the North Carolina Medical Board and am a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of PAs in Psychiatry.
I moved to Charlotte in the spring of 2023. During my free time, I like to spend time with my husband, family, and friends. I have two nieces and a nephew who I can’t get enough of. I love watching anything true crime. You can find me walking my dog, working on Cricut projects, or paddle boarding at the White Water Center. I grew up on Lake Gaston where I learned how to water ski around 7 years old. The lake is still my absolute favorite place to be.
My #1 goal as a physician assistant is to provide personable, patient-oriented care. As a PA, I can diagnose, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and work in any specialty. I chose psychiatry in order to implement my passion for mental health awareness. I have experience in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, and ADHD. I work with both adolescents and adults. I strive to work in an interprofessional system, where providers are in close communication with all members of the treatment team. What better way to do so than to join L & B Counseling! I am more than excited to contribute to their holistic, compassionate approach to mental well-being.
