Intake Appointments: The initial evaluation is 60 minutes. You can cancel free of charge within 24 hours of making your intake appointment. Additionally, you can cancel 48 hours prior to the appointment free of charge. If there is a need to cancel the intake appointment within 48 hours of the appointment time or fail to show, there is a $100 cancellation fee, which will be charged to the credit card on file.
Ongoing Appointments: Follow up appointments are typically 30-45 minutes. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule your appointment 48 hours in advance. The first time you cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment, you will be responsible for a $100 late cancel fee. For any subsequent late cancellations or no-shows, you will be charged the full session fee. These fees will be billed to your credit card on file. This policy is in place because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you will lose that appointment time. An appointment is considered a “no show” and will be charged accordingly if you are 15 minutes past your appointment start time.
L&B Counseling requires scheduled appointments for medication refills and does not provide refills if the patient is out of North Carolina. Federal controlled substances will not be refilled early or replaced if lost. Refill requests are not accepted over the phone without a recent visit according to advised intervals and are not made during evenings or weekends. Please allow 48-72 hours for the provider to refill your medication.
To ensure the best care, we may charge a fee for prescription requests resulting from missed or canceled appointments. This fee is $50 and will be charged to your client portal. Please inform your provider during appointments if you need a refill and check your bottle for remaining refills before requesting one between visits. We provide enough medication to last until your next follow-up appointment, so mid-term refills are generally unnecessary.
As a one-time courtesy, if you find yourself in need of a refill before your next appointment, you may be allowed a one-time refill request, subject to your provider’s approval. This refill will be a bridge to ensure you have enough medication to safely reach your next scheduled appointment. However, no controlled substances will be given outside of appointments under any circumstances.
